I first want to acknowledge each and every one of you for following my blog. I have been MIA for a while and I just want to let you know that I appreciate you and I hope that you are safe and healthy.
I also want to let you know that I have not forgotten about you or my blog.
As you can see, I worked on my website while I was away (which came about because I accidentally deleted my blog posts!) Now that everything is up in running, I can’t wait to share more stories and poems with you!
I am not going to lie, it has been rough for the past couple of months. The pandemic took a toll on my mental health and although I am doing much better, I can’t help but feel sadness about what we are going through globally. So many people have lost their lives and I pray for them and their family members who have had to deal with loss during these difficult times.
Covid-19 isn’t the only reason I am struggling with my mental health. The political state of our nation with Trump as president, his response to Covid-19, his support for white supremacy and police brutality… I mean that can cause anyone to break down. The list of things I am worried about is endless but despite the worry, I have also experienced good moments and for that, I am thankful.
I want to share with you all what I have been up to and what has happened to me in the last couple of months.
I moved into my own place with my sister! I had been living with aunt and uncle due to financial issues and now that I am financially better, I am able to afford my own place. Before living with my uncle, I was moving from place to place, definitely hanging by a thread. (Who can afford living in this world with a part-time job?)
This brings me to my next point. I am officially fully employed! Woohoo! The lord knows how hard I struggled the past couple of years (I was homeless twice). I am glad that part of my life is behind me. On another note, I have to move again but what the heck, at least I’m okay.
I started therapy again and I am proud of myself for doing so. I started therapy in January of this year and took a break because my original therapist was unable to work from home. That Covid really messed with our lives! I recently reached out to a new one and I really like her!
I also started dating someone or actually, “talking” to someone and I am having a blast. I met this person through an online dating app. I will probably give you all of the juicy details in future posts and don’t worry, I already asked him if I could write about our experience dating during a pandemic. Clearly, he approved. On another side note : we still haven’t met in person!
These are just a few updates that I wanted to share with you! Thank you for being a part of my virtual community and stay tuned for more posts!
Con mucho cariño
