I’ve Chosen To Sit Still

I’ve Chosen To Sit Still

Teeny tiny white flowers

Smaller than my pinky

Shake as the wind passes us

They look like concert goers, you know when the flashlight from their phones sway back and forth

Except these flowers don’t sway in unison

If they had shoulders it would seem that someone is trying to knock some sense into them

They are with me on this huge block of land

I’ve chosen to sit still and in doing so, nature has become my friend, my neighbor, my companion and much more

I get to inhale and exhale and believe that I’m okay

I never thought that could be true but my body confirms it

What a time to be alive

What a day to be outside

What a beautiful body to be in
