I’m crying inside
Dying sometimes
Time passed me by
And I was too busy recovering
I couldn’t move forward

I know comparison can crush you
And I always wondered why I couldn’t thrive
Yesterday I got my answer
My God I didn’t know
How much trauma sets you back
Doesn’t mean you can’t leap forward
It just means one has to work extra hard
To get through and address all that life gave
And know that success is reached along the way
