Angelica Flores is a storyteller, writer, blogger, poet, and journalist from Stockton, California. Angelica started writing short stories at the age of twelve. She disliked poetry until her high school English teacher introduced her to Maya Angelou. It wasn’t until college however that she started writing poetry after taking a Chicanx studies literature class at the University of California Davis. Her work has been published in Joaquin Magazine and the Collegian Newspaper. She also has performed in multiple venues in the Central Valley and Sacramento area. Angelica has written social justice curriculum for non-profits and is a mental health advocate. She believes that healing is possible through storytelling and poetry.
